The transposition of Council Directive 90/313/EEC of 7 June 1990 on the freedom of access to information on the environment in Gibraltar.


    The 1990 Environmental information Directive has been transposed in Gibraltar by the Public Health (Freedom of Access to Information on the Environment) Rules 1992,  an order made by the Governor of Gibraltar which came into effect on the 1st November 1992. This order is extremely interesting since it sticks very closely to the wording of the 1990 Directive, probably in an effort to avoid an erroneous transposition.

    It is also a very hard to find documen since even if ithas been published in the Gibraltar Gazette: 1) the British Library has a 6 month gap in its collections around this date (!), and 2) Gibraltar's Environmental Agency were unable to provide me with a copy. However, I was able to find it at the Lincoln Inn's library and I have reproduced it o this website in order to help other reseachers. To access it click below:
